Solution Concentration: Percent Composition
This video demonstrates a solution to a solution concentration problem. The problem comes from a set of practice problems used in class, which addresses the CA standard: Students know how to calculate the concentration of a solute in terms of grams per liter, molarity, parts per million, and percent composition.
NOTE: I assume that you have the use of a periodic table. In working quantitative problems, I will usually round masses to the nearest gram. These examples demonstrate a considerable focus on the rules for simplifying fractions in order to work problems without a calculator.
